by stream it's meant that the group of 150 will be split into two groups for classes etc. Each group is called a 'stream'

No I'm admitted in the 2011 class...
Current MiM has around 100 students, but I read that they increased the number of places of both MiM and MBA programmes because of the high nummer of applicants and the quality of their applications...
So it should be 150 next year... for the MiM

Wow! The forum has been very active lately! :D That's great!

Some questions... has anyone received the portal log-in details yet?

Is anyone also worried about the sterling pound value? lol! It's very expensive right now!!! I want to confirm mi place, ie. pay the 7500pounds but if I had paid them one month ago I would have saved 400€! That is why I'm waiting for the currency value to drop... But won't be able to wait forever! :(

@anner, CONGRATS!!! I know how you feel... I had this offer from Stockholm School of Economics which is very well regarded nationally and the MSc is free!!! But I tried not to think about it and I'm sticking with LBS! :P I will pay back the tuition fees in 2-3years... I guess it depends where you want to start your career. If it is in Canada, I guess that uni is better... but dunno really...

@luftwaffe, your profile seems great! I think the aspect LBS values the most is what you have done APART from your studies... In my CV they highlighted the languages, my experience as a volunteer teacher of arts and music for children AND (I was very surprised!) the fact that I was 5th in an international music organ contest in... 2004!!! (I just put it because there was a section for "sports/arts awards"). So I guess your great GMAT score (I had 650!) along the good extra curricular and sports activities experience is a good mix for LBS :) Good luck!

Hi guys,

I applied to the programme just in time for stage 4 a few days ago and unluckily only today did I find out this forum and thread with so many useful information and friendly people!! :lol:

congrats to those who have already received their offers!! :P :P

and @those people who did their interview in London
I would like to ask how many days after the decision date did you guys have your interview?

and a little background:

21/m/chinese in london
good academic record
good activities/sports
several internships and other WEs in London, Hong Kong and China
GMAT: 710 Q49 V39 (very minimum preparation ~3-4days :| )

thanks for the replies in advance :-D

P.S. and what does that portal do for the admitted ones?

@zevot,

Good luck with your application! The interview decision and final decision dates are published in the website and they do stick to them.

About the portal, it is the LBS intranet, where you can meet other students enrolled to the programme and later on, have access to contact all LBS alumni :D

@ kitsune

thanks so much for your reply

I know there are specific dates when the decisions for interviews and offer are sent out

what I meant is the number of days between the interview decision date and the date the actual interview is taking place if it's in London

thanks again :)

@zevot,

In my case, the email inviting me for the interview was sent on March 5th, the email with the details of the interview on March 10th, the interview took place on March 23rd and the final decision email was sent on April 1st. All really quick and efficient!

@ anner:

On Friday I also received another offer from a Canadian university: Queen's Master of Management - Global Management. I was accepted to their double degree program (Queen's & HEC Paris). Although the Queen's and LBS programs seem similar in price, I think it may be easier to secure a scholarship for Queen's.... On the other hand, my heart is really set on London. Tough decisions ahead!

@kitsune tl
thanks again
and you had your interview in London right?

Who was your interviewer? How was he/she like?

Also we, those who are in r4, won't be hearing any news until 2 weeks later. So Any advice on how to get over these 2 weeks. Cuz the more I read abt the course and stuff, the more I can't imagine I won't even be able to sell myself in the interview. :(

everything abt the course is reallly so great
may i say congrats again to those who hv got it!! :)

Hi nmn,
Queen's is actually the university I was talking about :-D ! I applied to a different program than you though - the Msc Management (Finance stream). I really wanted an opportunity to brush up on my finance since I do have a background in Economics and a bit of Accounting. That's what primarily attracted me, in addition to their low tuition fee and stipend. From what I've been hearing from my friends, Queens is relatively well-known on wall street and in some consulting firms in the US.
But London is really calling out to me . I think we might be going through the same dilemma... Let me know what you decide!

@ kitsune

It was really great to know exactly what LBS is looking for from its applicants.
It will be really good if all those, who have got admits, share their experiences with rd4 applicants.

And yes the wait for the interview calls is excruciating and it will get worse as we still have got almost two weeks for the interview decision deadline.

23rd April
phew !! :(

luftwaffe

All admits shared their experience and it would be really helpful if u read previous pages, I found them really helpful !!

I'm also waiting for interview decision, but I have to fill in another two applications, so time pasts quickly for me :(

I have a question too:

I'm not the only Georgian who is applying to LBS, as far as I know one is already accepted and another 3 are my friends, we are on the same faculty, therefore our profiles are very resembling. Since LBS looks for diversity is it likely that all of us will not be admitted although all of us have strong profiles. Is not it? :( I'd like to hear your opinions.

@kitsune
lol ya my bad. i did read thru all the pages before but i was on my phone so i didn't bother.
thanks tho :)

@WVB25
hi fellow applicant
i think it's best to stop worrying about the effect of what you said and start thinking about what really differentiates you from your friends. and after all, there're inevitably more Georgian applying than you know. so just do you best :) cuz i am sure there'll be a lot of chinese like me applying for this programme :wink:

@WVB25,

I am afraid you are right :( The lady who interviewed me informed me that to be put in the Waiting List means that they DO like, you are a strong applicant, but they have already accepted someone with a similar profile... That does not mean that if they already have someone of one nationality, they will not accept another or vice versa... I know it's easier said than done, but do not try to look for a partern or percentages of admissions, nothing will change. Just prepare yourself well and good luck! :D
