" A" for me. In C- Using "would" instead of "could" changes the meaning IMO.
All other choices are unidiomatic

IMO C too
But isn't predict a definitive verb.then in that case the use of Would is justified?

Another thing I forgot to mention in my previous post - "would allow" not only changes the meaning but also is incorrect usage..Will should have been used instead.

"Would" is past tense.The sentence construction doesn't need that.

Casinoking thanks for the reply, but I beg to differ.

Apart from “would” being the past tense of “will”, "would" is also used to express a customary action.

IMO in this sentence "would" is used to express a customary action.

Thanks for the link jade3. However, "would" is used in a different context in the examples given. The actions were in the past.
In this sentence the author is predicting something that might happen in the future without the usage of "conditional" statements where "would" can be used.

Would is past tense. In fact i've seen this question before. Part of the exception series where sentences with 'being' are correct

Totally disagree with you on this. "Would" is used to address abstract events. If your reasoning were correct, then "could" should be replaced with "can" cause could is the past tense of can just like would is the past tense of will. I am not right?

Fell for C because of "being". Now, i understand how use of "would" changes the meaning. "Would" means "with certainty", "guaranteed," whereas "could" merely refers to the possibility.

'ability to' is the correct idiom but the usage of 'would' is incorrect.

wavering between A and C and as my luck would have it , Chose C....Its getting regular now - me nailing the options down to 2 and ultimately choosing the wrong one!!...Damn!
