@ Mackieman- I think you're ready for 700+. I'm seeing a great progress in your scores. In your latest test, did you answer SC questions incorrectly very early on? V39 seems to be on lower end despite great accuracy in RC and CR.

Thanks, I really hope so too! :-) Well, the error-split was fairly well spread among the answers.
I got these Q wrong, 2, 5, 10, 17, 22, 28, 32, 36, 40, 41.

I propably lost some important points because of my errors early on..

Re: BEAT the BEAST with Non-Native speaker. [#permalink]
Did a full MGMAT mock test today (including AWA) and got 650, Q46 V32. The quant was harder as compared to GMATprep. As for Verbal the SC was easier but the RC much harder, CR was harder too, many answers were basically identical. RC 41% correct (!) SC 67% and CR 57%

One text ruined my score, 1 correct out of 6 (!). It was about some awkard enzym disease and propably the longest text I have ever seen.

I did not like the spread of the different concepts either, I started with 5 CR in a row, thereafter a one or two SC, 1 RC, one or two SC, another RC. Q27-41 was basically only SC.

I haven't decided if I should take one more full mock test (tomorrow or saturday) or if I just should focus and doing math + verbal til the end. What do you guys think?

After doing a test I am basically ruined for the rest of the day, so the cost of one test for me is one full day of study wasted.

I think you should give at least 2 more MGMAT cats. Yes it's true that you will lose rest of the day but you will def will fain from giving more tests.

You can study something early morning n then in afternoon write a CAT. By dong so u can only gain.

Ja even I found verbal part question format bit awkward.

You will def score 700+.

You are probably right, I'll do one mock test today and one tomorrow.

Btw, this was the RC passage I encountered in MGMAT, just having read 2 passages and suffered from reading fatigue I thought what the f*uck is this.
urgent-help-on-tough-mgmat-rc-97444.html

If I just can get some SC and CR between the reading passages I can "reload" my focus and energy.

I'll re-read the passage, It was propably not that hard, I just had trouble to focus. According to MGMAT the first two questions were 700-800 level and the third 500-600.

Took my last complete mock test now and scored 710, (Q45 V41) (CR 57%/RC 67%/SC 73%) the funny thing is that I was 99% sure that my score would be lower than 650, the math was a nightmare, I got stuck on several questions and had to guess. I thought ****, my last CAT will be my worst leading to ruined confidence on gday.
I am glad to see V41 again, thought I had lost him for good :-). I feel that all the hard work in SC finally pays off.

I will not take any more tests now, I feel that if I do more tests now I will lower my motivation for the real GMAT, I need to refill my reserves to be 110% focused on G-day.

The plan for tomorrow is to get up early (test is scheduled at 9 AM tuesday), take it easy, go through some CR, SC quant and and review all my errors from previous tests. I still have 50SC from OG10 and 30CR from OG12 to complete as well.

How are you guys doing? :-)

Mackieman, good luck for tuesday! I think you should be able to manage 690/700 if you stay calm on the test day. Let us know how it goes.
I did a MGMAT CAT today and found that the Quant was RIDICULOUS. Also, the concepts tested were nowhere near to the topics/concepts we see on gMAT PRep and OG 12/11. I'm so disappointed :-( . I scored a 590 Q42,V31.

Thanks! I will let you know the score.

Well, I agree with you, the math in MGMAT is more difficult than GMATprep, they take the concepts to next level and add a twist to it.
Q42 is a good score, you can definitely improve it with a litte practice. I think it is good to use MGMAT as benchmark, its better to be more prepared than less. Don't lose your confidence and keep working on your weak spots.

What is your target score and when is g-day?

Mackieman, your reply was soothing :). I was so upset after the MGMAT CAT #4 :x . I feel some of the quant concepts that they test are not really tested on the GMAT as a parimary concept...any idea how their verbal part compares to the actual GMAT??
My target is 640 for the school that im applying...but i'm pushing myself for a 700. so that i am ASSURED of a 650 on test day taking into account health reasons, nervousness, lack of sleep etc :-D .. my test is exactly 4 weeks away(on and Feb has only 28 days!!)

For past 10 days I've been doing 10 SCs from OG12 + 3 RCs from RC99 + Powerscore CR explanations n Questions. This weekend i will be writing MGMAT's CAT03 to assess my progress in verbal section.

Slightly disappointed, got 650 (Q44 V35)... :-(

Quant - more difficult than GMATprep, like MGMAT
Verbal - much more difficult SC, lots of CR (which I had not practice at all) and RC was pretty okay

First of all, congrats for 650. It's not that bad of a score but does not meet your/our expectations. I don't want to suggest you something which I haven't done, but you can take a break and come up with a postmortem report of the test.
Plan on targeting each area separately with series of brutal tests. GMATClub tests can definitely increase your Q score from 44 to 48+. Quant 48+ and V 35 will definitely put you in 700 club. I think, similar approach for Verbal will work.

Why am I suggesting you? I just thought about this approach last night after my pathetic MGMAT2 test. I reviewed the test and found that I can do same test in untimed conditions with way better accuracy. I had practiced 100 odd questions DS questions in timed conditions and my accuracy improved in last test. Hope this strategy works for us. Assumption- You're planning on retaking the exam:).
