Hi there,
Thanks for the updates. So if you have a school saying you should still apply with the 530 obviously you may as well do so. Yes most admissions processes are 'holistic' meaning they'll look at everything you submit; the GMAT is not everything, but it can matter more if it's well below their average.
Test-prep-wise, if you'd done much better on practice tests, based on many years of teaching and tutoring GMAT myself, I'd encourage you to book one more test as soon as you are able to... sometimes a different day, mindset or q's is all you need, if you were already showing more aptitude recently, and the test itself has a standard deviation. Keep that in mind! Otherwise we do recommend courses such as Manhattan Prep for example, as needed. But for short-term as you mentioned, for fall 2017 start, I'd probably just do a one-more-shot try in the next 2 weeks with just a bit more prep and see what happens! Keep us posted!
