Sorry, but I don't think this is a good question.

Technically, none could be either singular or plural. it depends on the meaning.
(1) None is singular
Of the eight members of the jazz band, none [not one] was..............
(2) None is plural
Of the eight members of the jazz band, none [not any] were..............

In short, the use of none is very controversial except question with clear meaning (singular vs plural).

Who is fraught? "Her" or "she"? Answer is "she". B and C are out.
Correct idiom is more ... than. ==> C and E are out.

We are left out with A and D. Difference between these two is was vs were.
"None" can be singular or plural depending upon the context. "None" is singular when one person is emphasized.
Hence, option A is the best answer here.

This is poorly structured question in anyway.

Straight A.
Singular verb form goes with with none, so we are left with A, B and E.
Than vs Then --- we use than with more, thus E out.

--> Between A and B: we need she not possessive her.

Hi Piyush,

MGMAT says SANAM
Some ,Any, None ,All,Most can be used either as singular or plural depending on the context of the sentence.
IMO here it should have been plural as sentence is talking about members of the band

Correct my reasoning if found incorrect

Than / then - For comparison than must be used. ( Options C & E - Out )

A. none was more fraught with stage fright than she. - Correct

B. none was more fraught with stage fright than her. - Why use Object Pronoun ?

D. none were more fraught with stage fright than she. - Pulral, Incorrect

E. none was more fraught with stage fright then she.

Hence IMO (A) looks best..

Sir, Please explain the usage of "her" and "she". which one is correct and why. Also, i think usage of "none" is singular here but i am not sure why singular is correct. Please help me in resolving these discrepancies.
