Sorry, you are right. Those dates are from the last application cycle. They haven't posted the new dates for the 2014 application cycle. But i would harzard to say that the deadline for R1 is going to be the same, Nov 1.

Looks like the new essays have been released, or should I say "essay." Has anyone had a chance to look at the optional essay?

"Here you may choose to provide additional information with regard to personal characteristics and/or challenges you have had which might enhance the diversity of your class." (250 words)

If I wanted to write about my low GPA and what I've done to address it or my choice of recommenders, it doesn't seem that this is the place for it. Any ideas?

No, writing or explaining your weakness or pitfalls in the optional essay is not recommended. Instead use it to further be vocal about your strengths. Sell yourself.

I called and asked about that, they said after you're admitted, you'll have to send in the official transcript. As for now, it's ok.

WE - 2 years by the time I get in (if at all I get in fall 2014) as a software engineer.
I have a good academic track record all through and done a few CSR stuff and have worked for NGOs as well...
interested primarily in marketing/finance/business strategy&innovation.
what chances do I have to get in?
can I be optimistic ?

maybe you should reply Marshall with the last 2 questions, and see how they answer. From what I see is that they don't have a set decision date, and they will send out invitation on Dec 15th then go on from there.

Invited to interview! It looks like they sent out several interview invitations via email on Nov 1st @5pm. It was a generic email to "undisclosed recipients."
