Schools that value campus visits?

Schools that value campus visits? [#permalink] New post   20 Jun 2015, 15:19
I wanted to get people's perspective on which schools from the Top 20 consider/value applicants who actually visit campus. I'm already attending sessions in my city and speaking with alumni/current students. All the programs I'm targeting are very far away from my city, but if certain schools "give bonus points" to applicants that fly out to visit, then I want to make sure I schedule one. I've heard anecdotal comments about some schools not caring and certain schools that do care. Thanks.

There's no way around it - school visits are an investment. All schools prefer a visit - even the ones who say they understand if you can't make it. That means it won't hurt you if you don't. But it sure as heck will help if you do! The rule of thumb is this - if you are passionate about the program, book a plane ticket and visit. You want to do everything within your control to help your odds, right?

You can't get better advice than that. Plus I'd add, that if you are gonna end up going there, aren't you curious to see what it's all about beforehand?
