I'm not expert on this but anything above 700 is pretty good for applying any top school. If you can get stellar recommendations and prepare impressive SOPs, I feel you'll get through.

With a 720,there's no point in retaking the GMAT . GMAT Is just one of the many factors the schools take into account. So even if you end up getting a 740 or 760, you may only have a slight advantage vis-a-vis where you're now. Focus on your essays and try to write the best essays you can.

I think that your score is perfectly and I mean perfectly fine. If you have an extra $250 you want to spend, and simply can't NOT spend, I'll pm my address and you can send me a check :P

Jk. But seriously, you'll be fine. At this level, the ROI on retaking is but marginal and your efforts are better aimed if you spend your time on essays.

1st of all she is not a he she is a she :P

I got Q51 in the last 4 of my mock tests with time to spare and scored 750 and 760 in the last 2. Even then just before I got the score in the actual GMAT, I decided that I would be happy with any score above 730 (median for H/S and that's because I had a "poor" GPA) even though I had plans to apply to the top schools. Because you have a super GPA, I guess 720 is not such a bad score. Does your WE involve quant heavy stuff BTW?

Nope - light analytics, but my work experience is not at all finance-related :(

Re: Should I retake?? [#permalink]
just to be fair there are a lot of others who got 720s and went ahead to retake - some got what they wanted while some got lower. It is really up to you and if you aiming for H/W then you really might want a GMAT push to retake... but it is up to you really.
