right your after some more 'trancey' stuff. Prog house. Hmmm, prog breaks is an alternative, if its for essay righting, i recommend non-lyrical stuff. The human voice is a huge distraction.

Not prog style but if you like it :-
https://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=7EEea1DlXGs quite a famous tune now. The stanton warriors mix of this is my favourite.
https://www.juno.co.uk/products/262883-01.htm -> is a nice tune on a prog breaks tip
https://www.juno.co.uk is a great place to look for tunes.
On a retro tip , when i first got into trance in 1992/93, Germany was producing lots of great trance from the Eye-q and harthouse labels.

If you want something more crazy, mid 90's (around 1995) Psychedelic Trance came through... Green Nuns of the revolution are one of the acts which came through :-

https://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=wzCmIlMpTGASaw these guys live in 1995/96 still on a trancey tip, but slightly more techno. They were supporting Autechre when i saw them. Probably the only time i bought a CD at a gig based on the strength of their music.
Currently, I'm more into this type of stuff :-
https://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=u0HETa0X8j8 This is Plump DJs playing 'System Addict'
Evolution of my music taste goes along these lines :-
1992 - Hardcore -> Trance & Techno & Experimental Techno
1995 - Interest in Trance started to decrease after psychedelic trance came through, Experimental Techno interest increased.
1996 - Got into breaks and the intial big beat craze, techno interest started to decrease - around this time i saw Chemical Brother Live
1998 - Daft Punk Live!!! so still into the techno and funk combo. (Homework era)
1999/00 - Lost interest in techno, big beat tastes mutated into funky breaks and nu-skool breaks, plus started to get into filtered house (a la cassius)
2003- Purely into breaks... still at this point.
Usually i've been ahead of the 'game' in terms of musical genres that broke through. e.g. Trance broke through commercially when mixed with house around 1997 when Paul Oakenfold and his perfecto label brought it to the UK masses.
Big Beat came trhough in the late 90's and early 00's due to Fat Boy Slim (Everytbody loves a 303 is the tune which got me into big beat and it was only his second release on the Skint label (
https://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=xTa-_3r-pf4) remember hearing it in 1996/97 for the first time
This
https://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=HDODGwtX7RA was probably the tune that got FBS famous.. Was used by so many tv shows!!!.. Used to go to 'Skint' at The End nightclub in the late 90's. Saw FBS many times as he was quite regular then and before it he became super-famous... Rockerfella skank took him into the commercial world. I remember hearing him play in in early 1998 at the club before it was released. Its somethig DJs do, you play out your recordings to gauge crowd reaction before releasing. That's what promo companies are used for. They distribute the records to DJs who send crows reaction reviews back. Then the record company can use this data to decide how many units to press. Used to get lots of promos back when i was DJing regularly.
