Two intersecting lines form four angles. Are the lines perpendicular?

(1) Each of the angles is equal to exactly one of the other three angles.
(2) The sum of three angles does NOT equal to 270 degrees.

D is my choice....
if they are perpendicular each of the four angles should be 90.... but since one angle is equal to exactly only one angle out of other three.... lines are not perpendicular.... so 1 is sufficient....
2 is also sufficient to say they are not perpendicular.... so answer is D

A) Statement (1) BY ITSELF is sufficient to answer the question, but statement (2) by itself is not.

B) Statement (2) BY ITSELF is sufficient to answer the question, but statement (1) by itself is not.

C) Statements (1) and (2) TAKEN TOGETHER are sufficient to answer the question, even though NEITHER statement BY ITSELF is sufficient.

D) Either statement BY ITSELF is sufficient to answer the question.

E) Statements (1) and (2) TAKEN TOGETHER are NOT sufficient to answer the question, meaning that further information would be needed to answer the question.

i think the ans is B ... IS IT OK?

Answer should be D

As Amateur mentioned above, if two lines are perpendicular, each of the 4 angles they make must be 90.

Look at statement 1:
(1) Each of the angles is equal to exactly one of the other three angles.

This means two things
1) Each of the angles is equal to one of the other three angles
2) Each of the angles is not equal to two of the other three angles (focus on the word 'exactly' used here)

But all angles should be equal to each other if lines are to be perpendicular. This means the lines are not perpendicular.
