In general quadratic expression ax^2+bx+c=0, discriminant = b^2-4ac
in this case 64, which means that there are two distinct solutions.

This is an ETS question.

I put this since OA given is 'C', though I answered it as 'B'.

Can anybody tell, why is it 'C' & not 'B'?

i do not think it is C. it should be B because if we use trial and error in statement ii, it gives 3 as value of m.
