The answer is A.
I am confused -- 'industry' does not agree with 'have'.
Can someone please explain. Thank you

sure, "to have" has its own special role in this sentence. This type of construction is called the perfect infinitive. Its grammar structure is "to have + past participle." It indicates an action happening before the main verb. Let me give you an example:
I would have liked to have heard rock music.
one more note, this structure is fixed whether the subject is singular or plural. hope this helps

Thank you tarek99. Is this rule in MGMAT SC book? Did I miss it? If not, can you point me to the source so I can read more.

Anyone know why D is wrong then? Is it because the "it" is not clearly defined?

I guess the reason D is wrong is that the proper idiomatic usage for appear is "appear to + verb", which option D doesn't have.
