Hello, I am willing to be helped regarding my next steps. For 3 months I have studied a lot for GMAt but i came from the test center this morning with a disapointing 640 score (Q47, V30(!)); this was my worse performance in verbal section, including the first CAT before I have started studying. I was not expecting to achieve a 700+ on my first try, since my work experience is my stronghold (i guess
), but I was aiming for a ~680.
My undergrad degree (2007-12) was in social commmunications in the #1 school for marketing in Brazil (ESPM) and i have finished it with a GPA of 3.5.
I started working as an intern in 2008 (19yo) and passed through two huge brazilian companies in telecommunications and oil&gas industries before going to Coca-Cola in 2010, also as an intern. Although I have always worked with marketing in these companies, it was in Coca-Cola Marketing department where I discovered a new way of FMCG product management and consolidated in my career plan this function as a goal. Finally, i got my undergraduate degree in 2012, but Coca-Cola was out of entry positions back then, so:
-
I started my prefessional career as Marketing Analyst for new products at Telecom Italia (Brazil Division) where I managed innovation projects and sales incentive platform. Worked ther for 9 months. I asked to quit when Coca-Cola offered me a young talent program's position and came back to the beverages industry.
-
I experienced one year in the Coca-Cola Young Talent's program in both Marketing and Commercial Operations areas, and was responsible for two important launches back then (Diet Coke relaunch in Brazil and the leader brand of teas brand repositioning) and was invited to assume a Brand Manager position due to good performance. (Became brand manager with 24yo)
-
As brand manager I have worked with 2 leader brands in Brazil (Leao which has 70% of share within teas, and Del Valle, which is Coca-Cola brand for juices in Latam - similar to Minute Maid) whose budget are huge. In this position I have a main responsibility of developing parts of these brands portfolios, proposing strategy for the next 3yrs period, coordinating support areas in plans development and implementation, and creating and leading innovation projects. This is a position based on strong strategic thinking, good analytical skills and leadership - of crossfunctional teams because i don't have any direct reports up to now.
-
I'm starting to participate as a kind of a coach for the new class of young talent's program in order to develop my people skills further.
I am aiming to top European MBA`s: INSEAD, HEC, Cambridge, IE and Bocconi. I want to have a international MBA to: strenghten leadership skills, and to relocate my working geography in order to gather internation experience before advancing onto senior leadership positions.
How does my profile looks like with such low GMAT score? Should I retake if aiming to January 2017 intakes?
What about eligibility to scholarships?
I still have a IELTS exam to perform and I'm sure i can reach a good score in it; I hope a good score might offset the low verbal result on GMAT.
Thanks in advance for the attention.
