Tepper 2012 - Calling All Applicants

I am planning for R1 as well.

The GMAT-club gods (dzyubam) have been kind enough to give us a shiny new roll-call feature. Please add yourself to the list if you haven't already!

Hopefully I'm in for R1. Going to try to sneak a campus visit in mid Sept/early Oct before I get my app in.

Tepper MBA Class of 2013

Hi AR,

The Tepper MBA application only gives guidelines for the number of pages for each essay. Are there any specific suggestions for fonts and font size ?

Just talked to admissions and wanted to let everyone know that the online application for entry in the Fall of 2012 is NOT out yet for Tepper. She said it would be out in early September. If you notice on the first page of the app, where it asks you what semester you are applying for, the only option is Fall 2011.

The semester has started for us (and most of the schools out there) but I know there are several Tepper 1st and 2nd years on this board still. If anyone anyone has questions, let us know.

Just wanted to add in about the fence.

It's a competition of sorts, between the different clubs, frats, and sororities.

If the fence is 'unclaimed', and you have at least one other person with you, you can 'claim' the fence. This means that you can paint it however you want (usually frat letters, slogans, what-have-you), and the fence is yours as long as you and your group continue to have at least two people at the fence.

If you and your group leave the fence, another group can claim it and re-paint it, and it remains theirs until they lose it.

Etc etc etc.

It's a lot of fun, people set up tents and barbecues and stuff at the fence, and it's at the cross-roads of all the main paths to class, so people will stop and say hi on their way to and from class.

Although, I have to say that you'd probably not walk past the fence on your way to the Tepper building, but it's only a short distance out of the way :D

Looks like I will be in for R1 as well. CMU is one of my target schools.

Just a question. I heard last year they were waiving the application fee for people with 700+ GMAT scores? Is this true?

Tepper 2012 Essays are up. Hopefully you werent like me and answered last years questions and have to start over... .... oh well. C'est la vie.

How do Tepper graduates typically place into General Management positions?
By GM, I mean rotational and/or leadership development programs.
I see from the employment report that a large share of the students take jobs in the Manufacturing industry, but the information is a little vague with regard to job functions. Are these P&L track jobs, program manager jobs, etc.

I know of a few rotational/leadership programs that target Tepper. I don't know what I am allowed to say or not, but they are definitely an option for students here. (I am pursuing a leadership development rotation)
