Hi raj94knp, Well it looks like we have identical profiles. I graduated in 2016 not too far from you (BHU), and have been working in an Indian Oil and Gas PSU since then. I am joining Ross this year and will be happy to answer any queries that you may have. Feel free to DM me. Will take it from there!
First congratulations on Ross Admit  , and ThanksPyjamaScientist for this much-needed interest. Actually, I have a few burning queries on which I can certainly use your feedback.

Heya everyone. I am planning to apply this year for Ross, I do have a couple of questions
1. I am not really sure about my long term goals, so will that be a hinderance? I have 3 years of work ex in IT sector, graduated in 2020. As a short term goal - based on current research I feel like I can grow into tech+consulting kind of role.

2. The tech landscape is changing drastically, so is there any support/ adaptability at Ross to come to pace with the technological shifts that are occuring.

Hi I have some experience in the IT sector and can take a stab at this.

Hi PalakMunet, For your first question- clarity on the long term goals: It’s good to have a clarity about long term goals. It shows why you need an MBA and also puts things into perspective. Plus, it’s one of the most commonly asked question during the interview, so having some clarity on it would be good.
Thanks Vashisht for chipping in.

The way I see things, it always helps to have a long term goal that you’re working towards. A short term goal that is a milestone towards achieving your long term objectives. This helps put the MBA in perspective and brings about a better story that you can put across in your app. And as Nikhil has highlighted, it also helps you in your interview

3. I want to understand how the 2 years on a high-level looks like? In some youtube video I have heard, internship prep start as early as 3-4weeks in the the program? Do companies start coming that early?

I may be wrong but still want ot get a git of how the course is structured?

2. The tech landscape is changing drastically, so is there any support/ adaptability at Ross to come to pace with the technological shifts that are occuring.
From the limited conversations that we have had with students and the career teams, there does seem to be support for Tech. Ross has been a good tech school before the recent downturn. However, even in the present scenario, the graduating class has had good success with tech recruiting and while the internship cycle has been harder this year, people have bagged roles.

With regards to Ross resources, I have had a chance to interact with a few office bearers at Business+Tech. That is an initiative aimed towards helping improve tech literacy in the cohort. It was recently launched and they plan on growing this in the coming years. There are other resources which I’m sure we’d be able to touch upon starting the program

4. STEM ques. I understand it is being offered in Business Analytics. BUt being an international student and If I don’t really want to pursue Business Analytics specializations. Would the OPT and everything cause issues?

5. Indian Female IT - Is that also overrepresented group?

So, the recruiting prep infact starts as early as May. We have already been provided with resources by the Ross’s career development office (CDO). Those resources help you in preparing for the school as well as for the pre-MBA opportunities (such as MBB pre-MBA coffee chats). Once you join school, most of the recruitment starts in Sept and gets done by Jan (I said most, not all). People who recruit for PE/VC recruit as late as March. But for most of the folks recruiting for Consulting/IB/Tech, the recruiting season is Sept-Jan. That’s also the period when most of the companies visit campus for coffee chats and recruiting events.

I would say it is definitely more competitive than average. Souvik posted this amazing piece the-indian-male-mba-application-guide-256968.html#p1992886
