Please do not focus on what group you lie in rather how unique you are with whatever experience you have had. Focus on what impact you have had in your life so far and how an MBA would help you in furthering it even further. This is what I followed and it worked.

Totally agree with this. All top 10 schools have a really competitive talent pool. As a geoscientist, I believed it would be "easier" for me to get in. But, boy oh boy, was I so wrong! I was waitlisted in round 1, only to get admitted in round 2. So, just focus on your strengths and give your best.
