Just finished my Ross R2 interview. Sharing questions and format in case it helps someone prepping.
Format: Alumni interview (based in USA), virtual, ~25 minutes of Q&A + 5-10 minutes of me asking questions. Very conversational — started with some small talk about weather and background before getting into the structured questions. Interviewer was friendly and engaged throughout.
Questions asked:
-Why MBA? Why now?
-Tell me about yourself / walk me through your background
-Why Ross?
-Did you speak with any current Ross students or attend any events?
-Tell me about a situation where your manager gave you constructive feedback
-Tell me about a time you worked in a diverse team
-Do you have any questions for me?
After some question, there was at least 1 follow up question if not more
We spoke for 5 mins about "Why MBA", why can't you laterally move to achieve your ST goals etc
Good luck everyone

Just finished my Ross interview, Weirdest one I've had yet.
Tmay - I talked about how I played tennis. We discussed federer vs nadal for a few mins. (I think he was not happy that I dissed Federer despite saying Federer was my favorite. )
Then he grilled me about my work on digital transformation for 5 mins.
Then why mba and Ross.
Then TMAT conflicting opinions - grilled me for 5 mins here.
Then TMAT conflicting priorities + failure.
Tell me how you lead teams.
Any questions for me at the end
This lasted 40 mins
15th was the final interview date in the portal that I saw so I'm not sure that this would help anyone but just in case

MBA Interview
The interview was very conversational in tone. The interviewer first introduced himself and shared a bit about his background, which made the interaction feel comfortable and natural. He then asked me to introduce myself. We had some light small talk before moving into the structured questions, which made it easier to relate to him and respond thoughtfully.
Questions Asked by the Interviewer
Tell me about yourself.
What are your short-term and long-term career goals, and how do you see an MBA helping you achieve them?
Why pursue an MBA in the United States instead of Europe, India, or Singapore?
You’ve already mentioned several reasons in your application — are there any additional ways the ROSS program specifically will help you?
Describe a challenging time and how you overcame it.
Tell me about a very big failure — a complete failure — and what you learned from it.
(The interviewer mentioned that this could be either a professional or personal example.)
Questions I Asked the Interviewer
When you entered the program, did you already have clarity about what you wanted to do?
What was your experience building a startup as an international student or international working professional?

My interview was very interesting, conversational and zero traditional. It lasted 50 minutes and it was with an alumni graduated more than a decade ago.
He asked me why now and why Ross and other all questions were based on my CV. Many times we were discussing a point and a new sprang up and then we switched the point. For many times we talked about personal interests (for example, one specifical American magazine). He and I are from tech so I think it helped a lot to create a connection (for example, he asked me why I like to code).
My english is B2 so I was feeling anxious. Once I didn't understand the question and he helped me to ensure I did get the point. Other time I didn't have the word to describe a product but I explained in other way and I could see in his face he liked seeming solving a problem in real time. He said I must keep improving my English and gave me tips of sources of practice, but said it's enough to have a mba and would be a larger problem if I would look for job in USA (I am a sponsored candidate).
I think it's a very specific experience that will not happen to majority here, but what I would like to say is; if you prepare yourself by the most common question, you probably will know your career, your needs and wishers, and yourself in that point you will feel comfortable to talk about everything.

The interview was very short, the duration was 32 mins, which includes 11 mins of me asking qs at the end. She was a bit unwell due to cold.
She gave her introduction. Then she asked me the following questions (this went for just 21 mins):
Walk me through your resume and highlight your experience
What really drives your interest in pursuing an MBA at this stage in my career and why it could be a meaningful choice for me?
How do you envision yourself being involved in the Ross community?
TMAT when you had to adjust your approach to the situation in order to accomplish a task or a goal.
Can you walk me through a project where you had to balance multiple competing priorities and made a mistake. How did you take accountability and adjust your approach as needed?
TMAT when you faced a significant setback or obstacle. How did you handle it and what did you learn from your experience?
How do you approach building relationships and networks with individuals with different cultural backgrounds?
QnA
she was chilled and conversational. Gave crisp answers for my 5 questions at the end.

Got done with my interview.
It was with an Indian alum (mba ‘07). It was conversational like any other traditional mba interview.
Started with “tell me about yourself” to why mba, why now, why ross. There were a lot of follow up questions.
Went into depth on my long term goals and how ross would help me bridge my current professional skills to achieve that. (Since i am pivoting)
Total time - 62 minutes.

It was very conversational interview. Didn’t even ask about my goals directly. I chipped it in
-Why MBA
-Why Ross
-Time I got a negative feedback, how I reacted to it.
-My leadership style
-Time I did something within a very short deadline
Then we started gisting.

Just finished my interview. It was with an alumni who graduated in 2007.
I was expecting a candid and conversational experience, but it felt like a proper interview and he grilled me quite a bit.
Questions:
1. Tell me about yourself (Your experience, Why MBA, What are your goals) - He grilled quite a bit on the Why MBA part, asking why I need an MBA to achieve my goals
2. He asked about my plan-B in case I don’t take an MBA and pressed on it asking why I don’t directly pivot into consulting, without an MBA. He asked what skills are required to be a strategy consultant.
3. How Ross fits into the picture
3. TMAT you faced a challenge, how did you solve and what was the impact
4. TMAT you worked on a project which had the biggest impact
5. TMAT you had a conflict with a teammate, how did you resolve it and what was the impact
6. TMAT you worked in a diverse team (Didn’t probe too much on this)
7. TMAT you failed, how did you face it and what was the impact
8. Any questions you have for me
Even for the TMAT questions he wasn’t satisfied when I was explaining things at a high level. He kept interrupting me in between and he wanted me to set up the context properly before explaining what happened
My suggestion for everyone else:
1. Be perfectly clear on why you want to do an MBA and how it sets you up for your goals
2. Make sure not to use fictional examples, and if you are asked a TMAT question that has never happened to you, just be frank and say that something exactly like that didn’t happen, and provide an example that loosely connects to it.

Current student but graduates in 2 months.
The interview was very conversational. He was interested in who I was as a person, my motivations, and how I would fit in at Ross.
- walk me through your cv
- what are your short and long term goals
- why MBA , why now, why Ross
- tell me about a time you had to adapt to a new situation
- tell me about a time you received critical feedback from a subordinate
- Tell me about a time you had to handle a challenging situation
- Tell me about a time you had to work with a diverse team
After that, it was just follow up questions from my experience and answers.

Interviewer was very calm. Introduced himself and mentioned that he had already read my resume. After that, he spoke about how he wanted to structure our conversation before proceeding to the set of questions he had prepared.
Following were the questions:
1. Tell me about yourself.
2. Why MBA?
3. TMAT I tackled a language barrier (because I mentioned my international work experience).
4. Failure and learning?
5. Who have you spoken with at Ross and what did you learn?
After that we spent 20 minutes discussing his Ross experience and the questions I had for him. All in all a positive and conversational interview experience. Hoping for the best!

The alum was Class of 2019 and was extremely friendly. Made me very comfortable and the interview was conversational for one hour. Didn’t ask “tell me about yourself” as he had gone through the resume. He directly started with:
Why MBA?
Why Ross?
TMAT when things didn’t go as expected.
TMAT when you dealt with ambiguity.
TMAT when you faced a setback.
TMAT when you worked with people from different background or cross-cultural set up.
A bit surprised as the first and third questions were both related to setback/failure. Thankfully I could think of two different instances. At last I asked around 2 questions which he loved to answer, specifically about Ross and Ann Arbor. He cracked a few jokes in between and was very engaging. Ross truly feels like a very tight knit collaborative school.
