The NYC reception last night was very nice! Pry about 25 people came, open bar and apps - hosted by Kelly. It was a nice chance to get to know some of the other people who might be classmates! Age range was undergrad '03 to undergrad '08 - I met people in marketing, finance and engineering. Everyone was really on track as far as their goals for post-mba were concerned.

Almost everyone there was "waiting to hear from other schools" before accepting Georgetown, but confident that if something else didn't work out Georgetown would be a good choice. I guess that's just how the game goes! Should be interesting to see how many make it to the admits wknd on the 15th!

Guys...just wanted to let you know that I am withdrawing my application from Georgetown since I have been extremely fortunate to have received admits from other great places.

Wish you guys all the best with your decisions and the next 2 years in bschool!

Given my recent Wharton ding (::sigh::), I'll definitely be attending the admitted students week in April. Hope to see others from the board there as well. I'll be interested to know if the other admits end up enrolling. Still trying to catch up with all the google group emails - a bit overwhelming.

Cookiesn - Congrats on the other admits and best of luck!

Jpnorbeth - I was waiting to hear from W all day yesterday - so I know it can be excruciating. Good luck and let us know!

hey I am a R1 admit and have paid my deposit and have decided to go to MSB this fall. I personally spoke to around 8 to 9 other admits at MSB and about 3 of them paid the deposit and were waiting for results from other schools. So there might be a lot of them who are in the same boat, so I would suggest that it would be prudent for W/L candidates to hang on.

suggestions for unc vs gtown for consulting? gtown has higher emp % in consulting prob due to location in dc and all...

I'm a 1st year at Georgetown. Federal consulting is big here, but I have plenty of friends with private consulting internship offers. Also, four 2nd years received full-time offers from McKinsey, which is definitely huge for us. Since I'm clearly biased, download the employment reports from both schools and see which firms have hired, what do the salary stats look like, etc. Good luck in deciding!

Received interview invite today. Submitted 4/1/2011. Is that normal or a good sign?

Same here. There's probably nothing to it. Or maybe they're just basing the early invites on the GMAT scores because there's no way that they were able to read the essays over the weekend.
