If you fly into JFK, I recommend taking a cab into Manhattan and have them drop you off at Grand Central Station (42nd St. and Lexington Ave....the cabby's know where it is). Take the Metro North to New Haven. The train station isn't that far from campus. I walked last time I was there but I really wouldn't recommend it. Its just a bit too far to be a comfortable walk. Just take a cheap cab ride to wherever you need to go.

Hope that helps and good luck with your interview!

Thanks. They only gave me a few options--which sucked--but I'll be up there on the 10th.

I wont be able to make it to New Haven for the interview. I sent an email to the admissions committee stating the same. They replied that if possible they would arrange an alumni interview in the BayArea.

Congrats on the Yale interview! Did it come to your email box or did you have to check on the website?

Yale emailed me today saying that they were having trouble reading my transcripts so I sent them copies in a different format. Looks like they have not completely reviewed my app yet and there is still hope that I might get an interview invite afterall!

Very personal. I am an Indian. Either its HBS/Stanford/Wharton(already dinged)/Sloan for me or its back to my home country. I got interview offers from Ross/Tuck/Tepper but I would prefer to go back and join IIM(Indian Institute of Management..premier Indian B Schools). Yale is a great school and the reason of my withdrawal is purely personal.

Had my interview. They really only do last 30 minutes. Very short. Of the other prospectives I talked to no interviewes went over by more than about 5 minutes. The questions asked are very basic. Discuss a couple items on your resume (and reasoning) Why MBA, Why Yale, Goals and that's about it. Pretty basic interview. There were no oddball or behavioral questions (how do you deal with a difficult teammate, etc).

Students seemed friendly and the class I sat in on was very engaged. The comments made by the students in class were pretty good. The buildings are pretty crummy but I actually liked them because they help foster that close community feel. There definitely is more industry diversity at Yale. I met way more non profit and government background people than at any other school visit. But I also met plenty of consultants, bankers and engineers.

I interviewed recently (this week) and am now stricken with the waiting game (it could unfortunately be this way for a long time). Best of luck to everyone!
