maybe we should institute a rule of no saying you got an interview until Nov 14th. Its going to be painful waiting if you hear all these other people are getting interviews. Maybe I will have some luck of the draw and get called right away.

Rhyme, any idea of percentage of people they interview?

I know you asked Rhyme, but I've heard that this year GSB is going to be like MIT, if you're called, it means you're almost there.

Is it correct Rhyme?

I "heard" that W/Chic/Col/MIT usually interview about 50% of the candidates. MIT and H tend to interview about 30%. K, Tuck and Duke > 80% as it is applicant initiated in those schools. No idea about the west coast schools.

I could be way off though...

They said at the Live Event that they accept around 50% of the people they interview.

River, no we don't know.... I think last year at some point we had estimated something like 50%... but honestly i think its pretty up in the air... too many variables. Plus, with the momentum behind the GSB this year (BW, EIU, etc), who knows what it will do to yield, interviews, total apps, etc...

Define almost .... Last year they publicly stated that they accept roughly 50% of those that are interviewed.... I don't know if itll stay the same this year (probably)..

Will be interesting to see the impact of the #1 rankings from BW and EIU. While I agree that GSB definitely has a lot of momentum currently, it might just see a surge in international applicants but they would have applied there anyways, as GSB is a good fit for a lot of Indians/internationals. Wonder what impact Kellogg saw the year it was # in BW rankings (04?).

Well 50% is almost. It's a 1 in 2 chance. But I actually tried to express the idea that this year is going to more like around 65% of those who get interviews are going to get admission, just like in MIT (at least from what I've heard from Alumni).

Anyway, it may be only a speculation.

They could very well interview fewer people. I am sure their yeild will be up with all the top rankings...people will be attracted to that even though in 3 years when we graduate it could be back down to 5.

Does anyone know if they interview 100% of their accepted students.

Yes. Chicago does things in a way I actually think is "nice" - if you do not get an interview by the end of the interview period (see dates above), you are denied - and they tell you you are denied at that point. Unlike, say Harvard, they don't string you along for another 2 months needlessly.
