Compared to similar threads for past application circles, this thread is really quiet here. Is it because of the decrease of the number of applicants, or because this is for the Sep intake without time for internship?

Got the email today, very excited! American, 4 years w/e.
Does anyone know what "pre-selected" for interview means in the email as opposed to just being selected? Is that good or bad?
