I found I left my hubby's number in my application, Adcom just called him, but didn't tell him their decision. When I called back, I reached the voice-mail of my interviewer. Ahhhhh!

I was planning on working from home today and just had my cell phone close hoping I'd get a call...I then realized I had put my work number on my app and actually raced into work thinking I didn't want to miss the call in case they tried that number. Within 10 mins of getting to my desk, the phone rings!!!!

And before you ask, yes, a phone call means that much to me. I'm that big of a dork....

Just received my acceptance to Georgetown (no $$..... I wonder if that is definitive). Also, I applied to Rice (accepted-full scholarship) and to Darden, Duke and UNC...., I do not really know what to do..., specially if I also get accepted in the other schools. I guess it ultimately depends on the $$ received but I know that rankings and quality matter.., any suggestion?.

Actually, it is definitive. Plus Georgetown doesn't entertain requests for revaluation of application for scholarships. However, decisions about research and teaching assistanceships will be posted in the beginning of academic year.

And congratulations once again for making it through.. :)

Hey everybody. I just found this thread and think it's awesome. I'm in for round 2 of their evening program - still waiting on an interview invite. Good luck to all R2 and R3's!

Regarding transportation.....there are GUTS buses that run very frequently to/from campus to Dupont, Rosslyn, and deeper into Arlington. There is also a Circulator bus that runs from Rosslyn through M-street (in Georgetown) to Dupont Circle.

Dupont Circle is going to be the most expensive location but it will also be where most of your classmates will be going out to bars and clubs. As someone that lived in Rosslyn last year, the Circulator was my move and I took it all the time to my friends' spots in Dupont. Living in Georgetown isnt a bad option either, as its most accessible to campus and you will go out at night in Georgetown often as well. Foggy Bottom and Adams Morgan would probably be just below those neighborhoods in terms of most desirable in my opinion.

I actually find all of DC to be very accessible and this is coming from a native New Yorker. You can walk/cab/bus/subway it anywhere within a reasonable amount of time

Let us know how it goes. I'm applying R2, and if you think it's worthwhile, I might be able to make the drive up from NC to attend one of those events.

Will do ebonn. McD offers a rebate on the application fee if you attend an on-campus event, so that signals to me that they value the effort very highly. Then again, unless I'm misremembering, you have a military service background, so I think you already get that discount. I'll report back just the same.

Is any one here in for Round 1? If so how are you're essays/apps going. I have some solid drafts for all but essay#3 which looks a little different and is gonna take me some time.

Is anybody else surprised at how skimpy the McD app is? "Half a page double-spaced" really isn't all that much for an essay. About 4 meaty sentences and you're out of room. Also, no "Activities" or "Professional Affiliations" sections in the application itself. I'm finding it hard to tag all the bases I'm including in my other apps...

I'm having the same problem. Its really tough to speak with any kind of passion about your activities in half a page. When I first looked at the essays I thought they would be a sinch given the short length but I'm having a lot of trouble condensing everything to meet the page limit.

Also, they request a double-spaced resume? Anybody else find that more than a little odd?
