Re-applicant submitting in R2 here... I applied in R3 and was admitted last year, but family obligations forced me to decline my spot in the Class of 2013.

Not only did they change the essay topics, but they also made the formatting requirements very restrictive. Good thing I still qualify as a re-applicant so I could include whatever I could not write in the other essays in the re-applicant essay.

As for the resume format, it's the same format that they asked for last year. I think it's better to follow their request than insist on submitting a resume with your own format. Not following their guidelines will only make you look stubborn.

Did anybody else get an email from AdCom, giving them an extension to submit in R1?

Yes, I did as well. I had my entire application filled out except GMAT score and essays. I have my reccs submitted and all other information, but intend on applying R2 to make sure all my ducks are in a row before pulling the trigger. They are my #1.

I think they probably just extended it for people that looked like they put a decent amount of time beyond filling in name and address into the App but hadn't quite finished the process.

Just got an on-campus interview invite. I'm wondering how much of the invite has to do with the fact that I live in DC and attended Experience Georgetown and how much has to do with my actual profile. Either way, I'm thrilled!

I got my invite yesterday as well, around noon. I'm looking at the Schedule and it seems my day will be Nov 1. Is anyone interviewing before that day and would they be so kind as to share some insight when they do interview?

Congrats!

Are you guys all local? Or any off campus interviews offered?

Also had your status on the website changed from submitted to under review when you got your interview invite? Mine still just says submitted

I am local. Also, I checked my application on the website and the status says: Processed: complete, ready for review, official

Good luck everyone - and I will try to post my impressions after my campus interview!

you CANNOT send a scanned transcript. If you only have one copy, then it has to be certified as a true copy by a college/university official. Generally, it must be in a closed envelope, and sealed, no exceptions. If you're international and have a transcript that's not in English, then it has to be translated to English, and the translator seals the envelope.

Agreed - it's a bit different from other schools, but definitely a key requirement. Under "application status" after the application is submitted, there's a legend describing what each status means. One of these is: "Processed: incomplete, ready for review, unofficial: One or more of your required documents are unofficial. Your application has been forwarded to review but a decision may not be released until all official materials are received." (the bolded text is my emphasis)

On another note, I completed my interview this week and want to share my thoughts to hopefully help out anyone who has an upcoming interview.

The adcom interviewer was incredibly friendly and nice, and that made for a relaxed atmosphere. She was very interested in what I had to say and was jotting down notes throughout. It's all very typical questions - just know your story, know your key examples for leadership and teamwork, and you will be fine.

Good luck everyone!

Hopefully that also applies for the evening division students as well but there's a completely different staff for the program I'm looking at.
