Inside UC Berkeley Haas's Admissions Office - What happens when you click that "submit" button?

Stephanie Fujii, Director of Admissions at Berkeley Haas - Once the applicants submit their applications on the online platform,they immediately get a confirmation and response from the school saying “Thank you for submitting your application.” Next, we put together the application to make sure that all the required pieces of the application are in order, including the application form itself, the essays, the letters of recommendations, resume and now the applicants can also submit the official transcripts while submitting the rest of the application.


After putting together all the components of an application together and verifying that the application is complete in all aspects, we send it for its first read. All of our applications from specific regions or country are assigned to readers based on the country of applicant.

Ya, I agree with you. I only have one reco. submitted so far and my app. is not in yet, but think I am going to go through with the part time program anyway.

I doubt it's possible to switch your app. I think you'd have to create a fresh app for the FT MBA program, and discard the other one, which means you'd have to ask your recommenders to submit their recos again. I'm assuming you have not yet submitted your app, in which case it shouldn't be a problem.

Also, even if it's possible to switch, I would advise against it because the recommenders' comments & tone would surely be different if you were applying to the FT program than if you were applying for the PT program.

I'm an R1 applicant (interviewed). As we enter the final stretch before notifications, what are people's opinions on calling up the admissions office and letting them know that Haas is my first choice (which it really is)? Does the admissions office dislike receiving such calls?

Well R1 applicants, we are entering the final stretch.. for those of us who weren't granted interviews, I guess a waitlist w/interview or ding is in our future.

For those that interviewed congrats and hope you are all admitted!

This year appears to be very different from last year in terms of activity..

So looking at last year's posts, seems like Berkeley started calling accepted peeps 2 days before the formal decision date. Since that is Thursday, does that mean that people will start getting calls tomorrow?
