INSEAD Waitlist - September 2012 intake

448 is the current number of people who have been admitted for the SEP12 intake and have not been removed for some reason from the list of potential students. From time to time people are removed from the list perhaps they inform INSEAD they will not attend, perhaps they fail to pay the deposit.

any movement for anyone on the waitlist?

448 - The yield is exceptionally high after R2 deposit date ( I sneaked through pages of last year waitlist link and movement started around March 21 and then the mbaconnect number was around 420)


But class strength will be 500, so there is some hope. I will still ask everyone to be positive. Maybe we will hear some good news amongst some of our waitlisted friends next week. ( when 6 April extension will end).

I called INSEAD today, asking about the WL calendar. They are about to re-examin the WL, if not tomorrow then early next week (you will get a phone call if you are concerned, otherwise you won't hear from them).

In a later stage, they will finalize the fine tuning of the class with the R3 applicants - which will be another occasion to take people off the WL.

I understand that these will be the 2 important next steps for WLers.
On top of this, the Admission Committee might occasionally call someone from the WL to make up for a specific need or whatever reason, but this will not concern many of us.

Anyway, good luck to all of you (us), I hope that this information will help you go through the week-end.

looking at the Sept 2011 thread, the 448 number looks quite close to what's to be expected around this time (couple of weeks before the R3 interview invitation deadline). In 2011, the number dropped to 410-420 just around R3 invitations went out.

Few heard back from WL right around then. The final numbers were just above 500.

Monday is Easter, so holiday in France. News will surely get out within Friday the 13th

hoping to see the number fall to 420 region by end of this week and some resulting admits from the WL..

I wonder if this doesn't mean that is it for this round. Usually they don't spread it over a few days...

I hope not.... Reading last year's thread, a few do get notification before R3 interview invitation. but many reported offer on 22th Apr, right after the decision day. So Let hangon for another 2 weeks and see what happens.

Congratulations daikon9494! Can you please tell me if you submitted additional recommendations or change in profile documents to the admission committee while waiting in the wait list?

I hope there is more movement in the wait list this week. Fingers crossed.

I did submit one additional recommendation to the admission. While I am not sure if this has helped or not, it doesn't hurt to send a recommendation that adds a positive aspect to your application package.
