I actually thought we were supposed to get an e-mail with all that info without having to commit (albeit non-committally). Can anyone confirm/deny?

The admissions person who called you will be emailing you today with the details you need. You do not have to confirm enrollment to get to the admitted students sites. You will get instructions to use your application login and password to get a new login and password for the Admit sites.

First, I'm very excited to join this group! It's pretty likely that I'll be matriculating to Booth this fall, so I'm looking forward to meeting all of you in a few months and/or at some point over the summer for drinks (I'm based in Chicago, so I'm already here).

Second, the admissions person who called me confirmed the quote above. He said that he would be sending me an e-mail sometime this afternoon with details about the admitted students sites, deposit dates, financial aid awards, etc.

Congratulations to all!

I believe it is sent from the personal account of the person that called you (Donna in my case), not some mass email, which explains why you may still be waiting.

From the FAQ (removed the contact info in case that's part of the restricted area):
Q18: I just received notice of my admission but the trip registration process has closed! Is there any chance I can still go on a Random Walk?
A: Traditionally, after the May 14th registration deadline passes, we still have slots available for some of the trips for several weeks. As soon as your acceptance into Chicago Booth is confirmed, please contact [World Strides] and she will advise you of your trip options and take care of your registration directly. As discussed above, once all trips close, a waiting list will be created. Typically, we have been able to accommodate most people on the waiting list, but this cannot be guaranteed.

Just noticed this too:

https://student.chicagobooth.edu/group/r ... /index.htm

IMPORTANT NOTE: Random Walks registration is now closed. Trip notifications will be made the week of May 21-25. Based on experience from past years, we do expect a number of cancellations, and as a result we are maintaining a waiting list. Typically, we are able to accommodate 25 to 30 students from the waiting list. To add your name to the waitlist, please e-mail [World Strides]. Please let Linda know your passport nationality, whether you are male or female, and your contact information (e-mail and phone). As current and past Booth students will tell you, destination is of secondary importance to participation. So we encourage you to be as open as possible to waiting list assignments. As spots open, Linda will contact students on the waitlist to offer spots to them. If you accept a spot, you will be asked to pay the non-refundable Random Walk deposit immediately.

@Bovice,

One of the adcoms has posted on the admitted students Facebook page that a few random walk seats are still left.

You should send a friend request to Emily asap (if u haven't done that already) and she will add u to the Facebook page. U can then respond to the link there.

Congratulations once again :)

Hey guys,

I am a rd1 admit. I received a call from one of the adcom members yesterday informing me about a merit scholarship that has been offered to me.

I have, however, not received any email confirmation of the same. Since I had already received my mail packet a few months back, I cannot expect one in the mail. Should I just wait or ask them for a confirmatory mail? I don't want to sound rude but would be eased out if I know the modalities of the scholarship i.e. whether I would get the money in my acct or will it be automatically deducted from the tuition cost etc.

Any pointers, anyone?

Thanks and regards,
Sam

Congrats on the scholarship Sam! You should be getting an email shortly with the scholarship letter attached. Scholarships are applied to your tuition bill in equal amounts per quarter (or is it per semester). The money does not go to you personally. Basically fellowships are just price reductions to tuition. If you don't receive the email by Monday then call your admissions rep back and ask for it. It's no biggie. Congrats again!

Hey all, after bouncing back and forth between here and CBS I've decided firmly to go to Booth. Very excited to meet you all in the fall - no random walk for me though :(. Anyone found a place to live yet? I'm headed to Chicago weekend of June 23 to look at places.

Welcome to the Booth gang, TheGeneral. I am looking for housing in the Loop, South Loop, and Hyde Park neighborhoods. My roommate and I will be in Chicago the weekend of June 23 as well. Where are you thinking of living?
