Hi all!
Adding myself to the thread. I've got some decisions to make, but Booth is certainly in the running.
Tuck is a really nice school, no question about it. It was my main R2 school if "hell scenario" happened in R1.
Booth is on fire in the rankings right now, though.
Anyway, it's a nice problem to have, congrats.
Thank you! Having overlapping ASWs does not help me.

Very happy to be posting on this thread, basking in the glory of admitted future business BAMFs. Aaaaaaaaanyway, does anyone have any idea how quickly the random walk trips fill up? It looks like we can sign up for them now, makes me wonder how long I have to decide... I assume they're very popular.

Random Walk sign up is suspended until Admit Weekend. From talking with current students, it sounds like you almost always get your first or second choice if you sign up at Admit Weekend. So, if you are going, you have until April 21 to decide. It opens back up for people who aren't going to Admit Weekend on April 26.

I will be there on Friday the 20th. Unfortunately, I have a flight back to Shanghai at 6:45AM on the 21st, so I won't be able to stay the second day (or not even likely attend any late evening events on Friday if they so happen)

I will most likely be apartment hunting the whole week of the 16th to 20th. Luckily for me, my family still lives in Chicago so I have a place to stay for the entirety of the week :)

I'm likely going to Tuck ASW, but I will be in Chicago on Thursday night so happy to catch up with other gmatclubbers over dinner or cocktails.

my wife and I will be attending ASW! Really looking forward to starting my life at booth. Now I just have to navigate the counter-offers and part time work requests coming from my firm.

Do yall have any experience working part time during business school?

I don't have any experience with this obviously, as I am joining at the same time as you are! But I would imagine that Booth's flexible curriculum is one of the few programs that might actually make this possible. If you try your damndest, you could probably fit in all of your classes in 2 or 3 days of the week, and work the other days. Of course, that would seriously dent your ability to attend recruiting events, participate in clubs/activities, get drunk at the bar three nights a week etc. But it's something worth thinking about. I suggest you try to reach out to any current students who might know someone who is doing this now. I know rhyme posted that he knew of some guys doing part time PE/VC work while at Booth full-time in the b-school guides forum.

Hi all!

Anyone has suggestions on which events/activities to attend during the admit weekend in April? I have to split the weekend between Booth and Kellogg and would appreciate any tips!

Thanks, and look forward to seeing many of you there!!

Hi all,

I've been so heads down in the application process that now that it's almost done I realize I need to completely shift gears and focus on my work-to-school transition (moving, finding a place, get established...).

Is there any guide/resources (specific to Booth or not) that you guys can share or recommend?

Thanks!

Has anyone started looking into housing options? I hear that the Millennium Park Plaza offers discounted rental rates to Booth students, but I can't seem to find any quotes for those rents. Does anyone know what a 1BR is going for, on average?

Is everyone planning to stay at the Chicago Hilton? If you plan to arrive Thursday maybe we could split taxi rides from the airport to the hotel.

Totally shameless plug here, but I'm currently a second year at booth and moving out after graduation in June. I live in a studio apartment in MDA City Apartments downtown, $1425/month and comes with a washer/dryer in the apartment.

My lease ends August 31st. I'm looking to see if anyone is interested in taking over my lease starting mid-June. It would be convenient to live in until August while you get a feel for the city and then sign a longer lease in a place you've scoped out, or if you just want to move in early and then renew my lease into the next year.

At any rate, if anyone is interested, shoot me a PM and we can chat.

Congrats to everyone admitted.
