2013 MIT Sloan Leaders for Global Operations (LGO) Thread

Congrats to all who have received the invites! If I still haven't got one, does it mean that my chances of getting it are quite small? Is there anyone else who hasn't gotten an invite yet?

From searching through previous LGO threads here, it looks like the bulk of the invites were handed out for Interviewfest in early February, but they are still going to hand some out here and there from now until March. May not sound encouraging but hey, until you see a ding anything is possible!

Very true EngineeringMBA. The past experience shows they'll still send out a few invites after the interviewfest till Feb-end

The thread seems to be awfully quiet this year compared to past years. How are you all holding up? For those who are still waiting for an invite, hope you get one! And for those interviewed, best of luck!!

I'm thinking that the phone calls will come mid-late next week. Counting down the days till March 8th...

As an applicant who didn't get an interview, and for it to be this late in the game, I've pretty much thrown in the towel on this program and Sloan as well for this year, but I knew going into it that it would be a long shot. I feel for me, getting into Sloan is less likely than LGO given my app was tailored toward the LGO program and its offerings.

According to the application process page of the MIT LGO website:

"Interviews and Admissions Decisions
Interviews of applicants for the Class of 2015 will be conducted by invitation only. Interview invitations will be extended beginning in January and extend through March 2013. LGO will send admissions decisions by March 8, 2013."

So perhaps you're not out of luck if you haven't been invited to interview yet.

Also, I'd thought that the admissions decisions date was originally March 11. Was this changed?

The discrepancy in the decision date is interesting.

The LGO page says that they release the date on March 8th.

However, the Sloan page says they will release the decisions on March 11th.

Either way, we've been waiting for months - couple of extra days won't kill us. (despite being extremely painful)

I’m hoping that March 8th is an update and that the Sloan website is one update behind. We shall see…

I just attended an admissions chat and Leah (LGO Admissions) said the decision date is 11th, so I better believe her to be right... but those who get in can expect a call between 8th-11th. Others...

I wonder when will the calls start going out ... I am getting glued to my phone and slightly panicking every time it goes off.

In 2010, calls were made over the weekend (PriceNation):
jzd - call - Friday - last name starts with C
ndsheth8 - call - Saturday - last name starts with ?
LGOorbust - call - Sunday - last name starts with ?
aam2005 - call - Sunday - last name starts with M
LGOgirl - call - Monday - last name starts with Z

2011, everyone was called on one day (zeelurker):

2012 calls:

Lgohopeful, last name G – 9:30pm EST on Wed, March 7
Brau0300, last name B – around 9:20pm EST Wed, March 7
