A certain lot has an area of \(12*10^{-7}\) square kilometers. What is the area of the lot in square meters? (1 kilometer = 1,000 meters)

A. 0.12
B. 1.2
C. 12
D. 120
E. 1,200


1 square kilometer = 1,000 meters * 1,000 meters = \(10^6\) square meters.

Thus, \(12*10^{-7}\) square kilometers equals \(12*10^{-7}*10^6 = 12*10^{-1} = 1.2\) square meters.

\(12 \times 10^{-7} \text{Km}^2 \to \text{m}^2 = 12 \times 10^{-7} \times (10^3)^2 = 12 \times 10^{-1} = 1.2 \text{ m}^2.\)­

­\(1\) Km = \(10^3\) m

So, ­\(1\) Km\(^2\) = \(10^6\) m\(^2\)

Thus, \(12*10^{-7}\) square kilometers = \(12*10^{-7}*10^6 = 1.2\) square Meters, Answer will be (B)

­1 Km                               = 1000m
1sq km                            = 1000000 sq. meters
So, 12/10000000 sq km     = 1.2 square meters
