Well, that's a pretty cookie-cutter profile you got there for many top schools. I'm no authority, but I hear in later rounds GMAT/GPA matter more, as adcoms are less likely to take chances on people with sketchy stats, such as yours truly. Assuming you have a high GMAT that would give you a better shot, but being from an overrepresented demographic may make things a little more difficult in R3. My revised percentage is 14.796327% assuming you have a 750 GMAT and 6.132587% assuming a 650 GMAT. ;)

Re: Calling all NYU Fall 2010 applicants [#permalink]
So when I had my interview with an Adcom person, she told me I'd hear back within 3 weeks - I asked her if there was any correlation between how late I heard back and my chances of getting in and she said none whatsoever; timing just depends on how much they've got going on at the time.

So, it's been a week since my interview ...

WHY DO I STILL FEEL LIKE THE LONGER IT TAKES, THE MORE I'M DOOMED!!!

I'd imagine that at a school like NYU which is so concerned with the "show me you love me" aspect of the app that you'd have to take even more time explaining why you didn't apply in R1 or R2, no?

You definitely don't have to worry about the timing, pudgethefish. Of the people I know personally who got in to NYU, none of us heard before two weeks had passed, and two of them heard in the third week. The wait is certainly excrutiating, but in the end, the longer it takes, the closer you are to getting your answer. Hang in there!

I was in your same situation last week and finnally got accepted after 2.5 weeks waiting. Even people that interviewed after me was accepted before me. So, I am a live example that timing means nothing. Good luck! :good
