Vsem privet!

Glad to see all of you here. I'm actually from Argentina, South America, but all my work experience after college has been in Central Asia, specifically Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, and Kyrgyzstan (where I currently live). I've also traveled through Ukraine and Russia.

I really like the ex soviet union countries! My wife is from Kazakhstan (was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan), so even though I never studied Russian, I've been picking up words and lately I can communicate much more. I read all your posts and could understand most of it!

I still don't know what school to apply. I guess I'll research a little more, and after taking TOEFL and GMAT will see where I stand and what I can target. But most likely will be a bschool from the us, not the elite, since I'll be enrolling at the age of 31, and my work experience in in non profit. As I could see, it's not a HBS typical profile.

Anyways, glad to see all of you here. Anyone from Bishkek? Could meet up sometimes.

Finished my studies with GMAT. Passed it in late November 2009 and got 640 (Q45/V33).
I made 130 points improvement from my first attempt. And I am proud of my score.

I am seeking a good Masters in Finance degree and recently, I applied to:

BI Norwegian School of Management (admitted)
Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (NHH) (admitted)
Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (denied)
TiasNimbas Business School (admitted with scholarship)
Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School (admitted with scholarship)

In September I prepare to go to Vlerick, as I dreamed about being admitted to this school.

Всем привет!

В этом году я подаюсь в ТОП-10 US школ и в LBS.

С GMAT у меня личные счеты - я вчера провалил тест и набрал всего 690(48/36). Могу больше, просто я был уставшим, глаза болели, и вообще первый блин вышел комом. Зато теперь я знаю, как эта штука работает, поэтому через 30 дней я вернусь и порву эту заразу.

Всем привет!
Недавно даже думал о создании такой темы.
Рад встретить ребят из Украины и стран эксСССР!

Я родился в Украине. Сейчас живу и работаю в Москве.
К ГМАТу начал готовиться в начале 2009 года, про клуб узнал после первого провально-сданного теста.
Сейчас готовлюсь к тесту, планирую пересдавать вскоре. Куда планирую поступать зависит от ГМАТа.

Hi everybody! I am originally from Dnepropetrovsk, currently live and work in New York. I am going to visit Boston on October 2-5th (Sloan event) and Chicago on October 14-17th (Booth event) and will be very happy to meet in person anybody from the CIS.

Welcome! I think a few folks from GMAT club are going to the Booth Event (not sure about Sloan).

Attended MIT Ambassador event on Monday. The best thing - you don't have to submit your transcript from the school if you didn't graduate it (everybody knows how hard to get transcript in CIS )! Since I started in Ukraine, but graduated school in the US it solves one of my biggest concerns.

I have visited Chicago Booth live event last Friday - spent there entire day. Everything was very well organized. Had a chance to talk to a first year student who is originally from Belarus. He is Wharton graduate and worked in consulting. He told me that there are about 20 Russian-speaking student in Booth.
P.S. Chicago is happen to be a really cool place (like half-priced NYC :-D ).
Next destination - Cornell. :roll:
