lula, what e-mail are you referring to? Did it come from LGO directly? It's stange that they send waitlists out this early...., especially since we haven't even heard of a call either?

That must mean that everything is in the mail. I am guessing you live pretty close to Boston because I just checked the mail box and there was nothing LGO related.

lula, I hope your wait-list becomes an admission!!
Did you apply through the school of engineering? I applied through Sloan and I ran to check my mail (i'm in Cali), and didn't find anything. I met many of you at interviewfest and you all are amazing people, and I wish the best for you guys while I wait in suspense as well. I'm also open to the idea that the best for me may not be LGO, but another opportunity which I may otherwise miss. "Winning anyone?"

Re: 2011 MIT Sloan Leaders for Global Operations (LGO) thread [#permalink]
I was thinking on my way home that by the time I checked this thread again I would already see some good news.. its odd that they havent called anyone yet. Anyways. I applied through the school of engineering and my status hasnt changed. Someone mentioned how the engineering school dinged him already and my thoughts are that if the school of engineering dinged you, you are not an LGO. Both Sloan and your Engineering department must accept you before you are considered for LGO candidacy. One of the guys I spoke to during ambassador's day mentioned that. He was the internship coordinator for LGO I think. Sorry to hear that. I know that I will get a ding letter in the mail since I didnt interview.

Good luck guys, I wish I could be part of the 2013 class but things just didnt work out. Cheer up when you get those ding letters. You never know whats in store for you in the future. Perhaps Harvard, Stanford or Wharton are waiting for you in R3 or next year (if the MBA is what you wanted). Things happen for a reason. Or you will just get accepted in the Sloan roll over.

And to those who get admitted, congratulations. I think it will be a great experience, at least from what I have heard and saw during the LGO event in October. I wish you the best. An engineering degree and an MBA from MIT will open a looooot of doors for you. I think its a great combination and people wont stereotype you as either a technical guy or a finance guy. You are smacked in the middle, and thats the value I see in LGO.

Has anyone on here actually heard positively by phone yet? :?: I've only seen waitlist and engineering rejection...I was really hoping they'd call by now, but I'm not giving up hope on the call until Monday or so and on my admission until I actually see a No in the mail next week. In the meantime, I just need to work at keeping calm...

I wish I knew :?

I'm in the same boat Thrive. Still no word. I wonder if all the people that got admission calls are just too busy celebrating to post......

Yeah, it's kinda weird isn't it? I applied to LGO via ChemE - I knew that ChemE was one of the departments that did not consider students rejected from LGO for the normal MS/PhD degree but I'm not sure why I would hear from ChemE first and not LGO. All of this has been really weird, especially the lack of calls for anyone on this forum (There must be quite alot of gmatclub applicants, especially all of the folks who started joining to post updates....)
