Hello- I appreciate any suggestions and comments regarding my profile evaluation.
Personal: Asian male, 24 years old
Undergraduate: 3.5/4.0, top 10 undergraduate business school; Spring 2009
Work Experience: Consulting at a big four accounting firm since Fall 2009. Primarily performing quantitative analysis, such as validating financial models and valuing derivatives
GMAT: 730 (V44, Q47)
Activities: Volunteer program, clubs during undergraduate studies
Objective: Business development at Fortune 500 company
Targets: Finance program at Berkeley, MIT, UCLA, Wharton, Yale (any additional programs/schools I should consider?)
Also, since I've graduated fairly recently, most of my activities are from college- namely leadership positions in clubs. The only activity that I have been involved in after school/currently doing work is a volunteer program. Is it ok to focus on the clubs that I held during college with respect to extracurriculars?
Any feedback and questions are greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance.
Impressive! You have chosen your programs well. You may also want to consider
Columbia,
Tuck,
Chicago, and
NYU.
Probably, but it depends on the questions asked and what you are trying to show in your
MBA essays(in response to your question about volunteering during and since school) . If you want to show
leadership, then definitely go back to college. If you want to show that despite a demanding schedule you have still made time for a volunteer program, then talk about what you are doing currently. Certainly include it somewhere on your
MBA application.
Best,
Linda
