I got my invite yesterday as well, around noon. I'm looking at the Schedule and it seems my day will be Nov 1. Is anyone interviewing before that day and would they be so kind as to share some insight when they do interview?

Congrats!

Are you guys all local? Or any off campus interviews offered?

Also had your status on the website changed from submitted to under review when you got your interview invite? Mine still just says submitted

I am local. Also, I checked my application on the website and the status says: Processed: complete, ready for review, official

Good luck everyone - and I will try to post my impressions after my campus interview!

you CANNOT send a scanned transcript. If you only have one copy, then it has to be certified as a true copy by a college/university official. Generally, it must be in a closed envelope, and sealed, no exceptions. If you're international and have a transcript that's not in English, then it has to be translated to English, and the translator seals the envelope.

Agreed - it's a bit different from other schools, but definitely a key requirement. Under "application status" after the application is submitted, there's a legend describing what each status means. One of these is: "Processed: incomplete, ready for review, unofficial: One or more of your required documents are unofficial. Your application has been forwarded to review but a decision may not be released until all official materials are received." (the bolded text is my emphasis)

On another note, I completed my interview this week and want to share my thoughts to hopefully help out anyone who has an upcoming interview.

The adcom interviewer was incredibly friendly and nice, and that made for a relaxed atmosphere. She was very interested in what I had to say and was jotting down notes throughout. It's all very typical questions - just know your story, know your key examples for leadership and teamwork, and you will be fine.

Good luck everyone!

Hopefully that also applies for the evening division students as well but there's a completely different staff for the program I'm looking at.

Re: McDonough 2012 - Calling All Applicants [#permalink]
Can anyone suggest any solution?

The Mcdonough school asks degree certificate as well.
I have received my Masters degree from a foreign university. I am currently in my Native country. The university has an option to send Transcripts but not the degree certificate. It is not feasible for me to make a copy of my degree certificate, go to the foreign university and get it sealed.

Is it sufficient if I submitted my Transcripts?

Hi BlueRobin,
I havent sent the official transcript to MSB yet, but I have applied in the R1. I was not able to submit the transcripts before the deadline, so I asked the adcom whether I should wait till R2 or they will let me fill the application in R1 and give an extension for transcripts. Adcom staff was really very suppotive and understanding and allowed me to go for R1. Here is what they said:
"To ensure that your application will be considered in the first round, mail or scan and email a copy of your transcript and degree certificate/diploma to GeorgetownMBA@georgetown.edu .
Your application status will remain "incomplete" until all official copies of the required documents are received, but so long as we have unofficial copies your admissions decisions will not be effected. You will however receive emails reminding you that your application is "incomplete", so please request to have official copies sent to our office at your soonest convenience. "

Hope this helps :)

Does anyone know current students or recent alumni at McDonough? I went to Experience Georgetown but I would love to connect with a few other students and get their perspectives. Thanks.

Had my interview this past Tuesday (11/1) in Atlanta. It went really well I think, it was very laid back and conversational, and she seemed interested in hearing about my work experience, my potential career change, and my interaction with Georgetown. There were a few questions that I wasn't expecting, but I think I answered them well.

If anyone would like to know more details or anything else, feel free to PM me and I'll be happy to share.

For anyone who still hasn't applied, I just received an email stating that the instructions on the resume section were incorrect, Resumes do NOT need to be double spaced and in 10pt font. The corrected directions are:

"Resume should be between 10pt and 12pt font. Prepare your attachment offline in a separate document and upload it to the appropriate space below."

Hope this helps

I received that email as well. They said you could resubmit but stress that they are only looking at content and not style. I don't think I'm going to resubmit mine. I'm sure the whole AdCom knows about this.
