Minor bump (and first post...)!

Applied for R2 and my interview is this afternoon! Butterflies are having a party in my stomach. Has anyone in R2 already had their interview? How'd it go for you?

Minor bump (and first post...)!

Applied for R2 and my interview is this afternoon! Butterflies are having a party in my stomach. Has anyone in R2 already had their interview? How'd it go for you?

Tell us about your interview! :)

My interview lasted exactly 30 minutes (as I'm sure other people have already mentioned in previous app rounds) in the MBA Full-Time office on campus. It was easy enough to find other people's posts on what the interview questions would be, so I wasn't really surprised by any of the questions my interviewer (an adcom member) asked. These are the questions she asked me (in no particular order):

-Why an MBA? Why now?
-Have you considered pursuing a policy degree? (due to my nonprofit leanings and interests, but I've applied for dual degree)
-How did you become interested in (area of interest)?
-How have you stayed involved in (area of interest)?
-Tell me about a time you faced a difficult interpersonal conflict.
-Can you remember a time that you had to apply a specific skill to work that you hadn't used in a while? How did you do it?
-Tell me about a time that you had to give someone unfortunate or difficult news.
-Do you have any questions for me?

My interviewer was incredibly nice and friendly, which put me at ease, but was pretty hard to read. At the end of the interview, she went on to describe what happens next:

-Interviewer does a write up of the interview summarizing important points
-Write up goes to application file and app is fully reviewed by a member of adcom
-Adcom convenes to "debate" on merits of each application and the member that read your file and your interviewer have opportunities to defend your app

Overall, was a pretty painless process. Now it's time to play the waiting game for the next 2 months!

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. My interview is in 10 days and I'll def use this post as a guide.

Good luck!

I'm sure you'll do great! From what I've read, the interviewers are all pretty nice and try to make you feel comfortable. Let us know how you did after your interview!

Good afternoon fellow applicants, this morning I had my Rd 2 interview on-campus with an Assistant Director of Admissions. The questions were pretty straightforward and I had a good idea of what to expect after reading through these forums and the clearadmit wiki. However, there were a bit more "behavioral" style questions than I anticipated (i.e. "tell me about a time when..."). The interview was scheduled for 30 min, but we went for almost 45 min, mostly due to additional questions I had about the program. My interviewer had not read my file, so she was seeing my resume for the first time during the interview. The questions (as i remember) went as follows:

1) Tell me about your "journey" - how have you ended up here applying for McDonough? (essentially the "walk me through your resume" question)
2) What are your immediate post-MBA goals?
3) Why do you need an MBA to reach your goals?
4) Tell me more about what you do in your current job
5) Tell me about how you have motivated others / led a team
6) Tell me about a time you navigated a difficult interpersonal situation
7) What kind of international experiences have you had?
8) Questions for me?

Like I said, more behavioral / past experiences questions than I anticipated, but I think that is partially because I breezed through the why mba / why now part pretty quickly. Overall the experience was very relaxed, the interviewer was friendly and I felt pretty comfortable the whole time.

I don't know how often they update the status on the actual application page. I've already interviewed and my status is still "application submitted" as well.

I just interviewed yesterday and my status still says "submitted" when I log in. I found out about my interview invite via email, which contains a link to a registration page where you set an appointment for a specific time slot to interview on campus. I would suggest sending admissions an email to make sure they haven't been trying to reach you.

I just checked again, when you click on Application for Admission, then you find on the left hand "Application Status".
Mine states
Processed Status Processed: complete - ready for review - official

All documents are shown and the actual status is also shown.
What is your status say on the Application Status page?

That's what I meant in my post. My application status is still "submitted", but I've already interviewed. I don't think the application page is as up to date as their email communication is.

Judging by the profiles, I'm assuming applicants with high GMAT scores are receiving early interview calls, makes sense!
