Got interview invitation on 3rd Oct.
I was grilled thoroughly on my inconsistent grades in my undergrad -
My Background - Chemical Engineering from NIT Rourkela (second to IITs in terms of brand value) with 7.86/10 CGPA.
I was surprised with their GPA conversation which was very low - 2.76/4.
Mostly general questions - Why MBA? We talked at length about my current project and contribution in different roles in my organization.
Post MBA goals and what all transferable skills make me suitable for my short term aspirations.
What will be my plan B if my original plan doesn't materialize?
Which other programs did I apply and what's current status? (I stayed candid to admit that I have been wait listed at Notre Dame)
The only tricky question I faced when I was asked to choose between multiple admission offer letters.
Shorter Duration of 16 months and low tuition fees results in a very competitive ROI for Mays. Hence choosing Mays will be a no-brainer.
I am not too satisfied with some my responses, possibly because I wasn't too well prepared to be probed on my undergrad GPA after 7 years of Work Exp.
The number of international student acceptance will go down as per my interviewer because of H1B issues - sums up the entire interview.
Kind of 50 - 50 chances of getting admit. I am not too optimistic of my chances.
