Hello Everyone,
I began my GMAT prep about 6 weeks back. Following are the things I have completed till date:
1.
MGMAT Quant Strategy books (all except geometry)
2.
MGMAT SC
3.
OG (13th) -
-PS,DS questions complete
-RC - 30% complete
-SC - 50% complete
-CR- 50% complete
4.
Magoosh Free Tests ( Quants and Verbal) - complete
5.
GMAT Club Tests - 2 quants and 1 verbal complete
As of now, I am doing RC,SC and CR questions everyday along with PS questions from the '700-800 level questions' shared on GMAT Club ( which is quite overwhelming for certain topics such as Inequalities/Coordinate Geometry, etc) .
Till now I have not given any full length test. Please suggest when should I begin with GMAT Prep/other tests? I was planning to complete all questions in
OG and then move ahead but at this point am not sure if that is the correct approach.
Please help!!Thanks in advance!
Hi Aimtoteach,
I think you're going about the prep in the wrong way. Ideally, you should first finish with the
OG questions in all sections and be thorough with them. Only then you should try questions from other sources like gmat club or
Magoosh. Remember, only
OG questions can give you the real idea of the GMAT questions, and not any other source. Also, solving 700-800 level questions before mastering the
OG questions will not help you. You will only get tough 700-800 level questions in the GMAT if you can solve sub-600 and 600-700 level questions with highest accuracy.
So I would recommend finishing the
OG questions and reviewing them thoroughly as soon as possible. And start writing mocks to test your solving and timing strategies under real exam conditions. With only 6 weeks to go, you need to develop your strategies and practice them under timed conditions.
All the best!
