Last year they went out in three waves: January 17, February 3, and February 10. Soojin posted the exact dates on her blog and I'm guessing she'll do the same this year.

Good luck, and keep in mind that, should they follow the same "wave" format this year, when you receive an invite has no bearing on your admissions decision -- it's just a matter of when they reviewed your application.

Was Ross cover letter a mandatory thing to submit.
I thought it was only for re-applicants so I didn't upload anything.

is that a problem?

No Vish, its not a problem. I had not submitted one, did not face a problem.

In!

One question to the people who have been admitted.

I've read that the welcome package will arrive towards the end of Jan. Apart from that, on the websites and wolverine access, I could see the decision deposit deadline (May 1), but nothing else that is a person is required to do right now.

Just wanted to know, if I am interested in joining, is there anything else I need to do right now? (apart from paying the deposit before the deadline)

Thanks!

I turned in my Ross application the other day. Now waiting! Just to point out, I have a messy UG GPA, so so GRE scores, an MPH =GPA 3.71, finishing an MA -International Relations =GPA 3.84 etc. I guess i will be the guinea pig, where the question is: If you have a wacky UG GPA, so so GMAT scores, but stellar work experience, stellar graduate school record, of course, a stellar application, can you get into the best programs?

It seems Ross is looking for a change in interview format from round 2? Excerpts from admission blog:

The first wave of Round 2 interview invitations will go out on Thursday, January 10. One of the things that the team and I are working on this week is a pilot for a supplemental interview process designed to give us further insight into candidates' fit with our learning community. Because of the highly interactive and team-based nature of our classes, we're seeking to assess applicants' ability to communicate in a group setting and work with others.

The pilots will be conducted in Beijing and Shanghai, and I'll be in China on January 26th and 27th to facilitate both sessions. We plan to have current students and alumni participate as well. We're inviting candidates to attend this supplemental interview based on geography, so read your interview invitation carefully for more details

I would assume that it could be because of one of the two reasons:
1. Too many applications from asia
2. Not much class participation from some of the students from this region in previous years

Looking at activities on this thread, I had impression that there are fewer applicants this year than the last one. It might just be the opposite. Whatever it be, in all probability China applicants would be the first ones to get interview invites :)

Re: Ross (Michigan) 2013 - Calling All Applicants [#permalink]
Hmmm... This complicates things a bit for me. I just finished an expat assignment in Beijing, returning to North America last week after having submitted my application which showed my address as Beijing. I thought I was in better shape as I am now living about an hour from Ann Arbor, but it turns out it could have been beneficial if I were still in China. :P

In any case, I'm wondering if I should write to inform the admissions team of my situation or just wait and see if I end up with an invitation in the first place.

Anyone know when we can expect to see interview invites for R2? Not sure if people from last year can weigh in and let us know how long it took to hear back after the R2 deadline.

Thanks

I think you are in a better position being close to A2. I would schedule a class visit to understand the school a bit better (unless you already have). The interview experience at A2 may be much more consistent than ones conducted abroad. If you are an American, you are not in the same application pool as international candidates. The timing of invites has no bearing on admittance.

The R2 intreview invites were expected to go for all the applicants or only to those located in Asia?
