Congratulation for the admission in both schools
I will to give you the all details I have. I'm international student like you with same background but with 12 years experience including operation consulting ( Lean and six sigma). Also, I will pursue career either in strategy or enhance career further to supply chain.
I travel usually to the USA for workshops. I have travelling to Smeal since 2011 for its supply chain program in the Executive center who has really rigorous programs in that field. Last year I added one day before workshop to attend an MBA class which was a supply chain class with professor who by chance was the instructor in my first day in the workshop in the Executive center. While he was well informed person, the content of the class was so basic. This singled me to review the courses content between both schools (Smeal and Fisher) not only in supply chain but also in the strategy field. I spent lunch hr with supply chain student who told me directly that they consider Fisher BS is their rival in the region.
Honestly, The strategy courses are way far in Fisher. Also the supply chain courses are more diverse. No one can deny that Smeal has good reputation in Supply chain and recruitment. Also Fisher gives you opportunity to do exchange program outside US, something I like to have. But Smeal does have one. I like the State college where Smeal locates. I heard the Fisher about Columbus, OH.
What I like in you that you almost know your direction. So I urge you to go both websites and review in details the following:
1- The courses content in the field you want to learn. Ask yourself: Are those courses talk directly to my need and desire? Put your thoughts in a paper or Excel sheet.
2- The overall employment stats in both. I can remember that Smeal was lower than Fisher.
3- Email each school for more info if you want.
You need to weigh your financial status. You need to compare between salaries in both schools after graduation.
I wish you the best
