I gave the first Gmat Prep Exam after about a month's study and got a shattering score of 540 q49,v17,ir-6.Could not complete the test.
Not able to figure out how to go about from here on, of the 38 questions i attempted,i got just 1 or 2 wrong in SC.
Even in quants there were a few questions that i had done before so i din't really need to solve.
Focus is a major issue in verbal, can't sit through verbal at all. Have never been a reader in my life.
Any advice....!!
Hey himanc,
Your verbal score shows that there is a lack of understanding in the concepts.
GMAT Verbal is very rule driven and you can cope up with the status of a non-reader
. You need to know the rules to solve the questions, especially SC.
Also, not able to complete the test has a huge penalty. So the three questions that you let would have hurt your score very bad.
Answers to the following questions might help us better evaluate the strategy that will suite you:
1. How did you come to the conclusion that you got 1 or 2 questions correct, did you order the enhanced report?
2. Did you take any mock CATs before the GMAT?
3. If yes, did you take the full tests including the AWA and IR?
4. Did you solve the questions from
the Official guide and the Verbal Review?
5. When do you plan to retake the test?
Ordering the Enhanced Report would be my first suggestion if you have not already done so.
By having a look at that, we can gain useful insights about which sections to focus on.
