I have a new version for the second essay:
"If I could I'd like to step into Rhyme's shoes, as he is already at GSB an he doesn't have to keep pressing F5, staring at his cel phone, and always answering your friends that you still haven't heard a thing about the results".
My day isn't that much more fun:
Wake up at 9.00am: Check email. Good lord there's a huge pile. Reach out to partner at big name consulting firm who asked me to email him when I got back into town. Surprisingly the email back says he's out of the office through mid FEBRUARY... not sure what to do about that... oops.
10:00am: Get a phone call from a number I don't recognize. Answer it. It's another consulting firm, claiming to call to "learn more about my background" and that "this isn't an interview". By the time the questions have moved from "walk me through your resume" to "what interests you about us?", its pretty clear im on the spot. I scramble together a few hodgepodge ideas, none of which are particularly stellar responses. I hang up having pretty much screwed that opportunity.
11:00am: Complete a job application for a firm, pdfing resumes and such. Send it in.
12:15pm: Receive notification I've made the closed list (note: it never happens this fast normally, usually its weeks later). Rejoice for 10 minutes and move on to the next app. Struggle with the cover letter for an hour and send that in.
1:30pm: Start work on remaining emails, filing away tasks for the rest of this week. That takes amazingly, an hour to complete. Go back to the application list, start another app.....
.....
it basically goes on like this
