do you guys think it is a really bad idea if i ask the interviewer how she felt about the interview? the interview still lingers in my head....
Similar to job interview, it is unwise to ask for feedback at the end of the interview. In the best case, you would receive a meaningless reassurance of good performance that has nothing to do with the interview outcome, because the interviewer would feel obliged to say something positive about you.
In the worse scenario, you are hurting your chance of getting the job (or spot at business school), because that sort of question reflect a poor self-esteem and overly nervousness of the interviewee.
And that's just the scenario where you ask for the feedback AT THE END of the interview. But if you take an extra step to call them afterwards, this magnifies the nervousness and poor self-esteem factor above, because you have taken that extra effort to call.
I guess, it's like a dating (as I was told in the CBS Thread!). If you worry about your 'performance on a date, don't ask the girl how you did at the end of the date! That would not impress the girl at all, and she might even feel annoyed for having to say some falsely positive thing about you! (As a girl, I've been there!)
Good luck to everyone. One more week to go!
