Hello all! I met the Darden admission team last week, and I have learnt that the details for 2023 application cycle are going to be posted soon. Furthermore, there is a ’slight’ change in the essay this year!

Thanks so much for sharing! Maybe we can get more details this week from Darden during the NBA spotlight. It should be a pretty big crowd so maybe they will be tempted to release the details. 😇

Is there a forum where all the attendees (or people who’ve registered for these school-specific events) could chat?

797 is a huge applicant pool and there would be nothing better than an opportunity to connect with these many people at once!

I think this may be a bit splitting hairs... I would say the applications are very diverse and you have to be competitive. Though I am not an AdCom... but Analytics is a hotter industry than programming/etc, so it is more of an edge in recruiting... and perhaps more ability to talk/speak/present/etc

Hi Meghana, happy to see a fellow analytics candidate.

In my honest experience, I believe competitive edge depends totally upon the impact you create. For instance, if a techie says he developed a health tech platform that increased patient outreach vs an analytics professional who says they’ve operationalised and run a report, techie would surely win. At the end of the day, what’s matter is what kind of impact you’ve created

Adding to bb’s point, Darden would also try to assess where you would fit in the community along with future employability. So I would suggest focusing on presenting a strong profile as most MBAs are career switchers and I am certain your current background along will not be held against your candidacy.

Hello,, is it necessary to demonstrate or mention explicitly financial need in the essay or interview to ensure receiving financial aid? Or what would you recommend?
