I got the same score a month ago and the very same thing happened to me :)

But for me it was Red Bull...I thought a can of Red Bull would be great to give me some enthusiasm right before the extremely boring verbal section. But the proctor rushed me through my break (which I only used about 4 minutes of) and because of her I drank my can of Red Bull in exactly two minutes...Just downed it...Turns out that's not a good idea for your brain or for your bladder.
So i definitely screwed up a little bit towards the end and my verbal score could've been better, but no complaints. I'm actually happier I didn't score higher. Don't want to be outside of that 80% GMAT score range for most of the colleges.

Congratulations on the excellent score, bdepp! Your debrief's "Tips and Takeaways" section should be particularly helpful for future test takers.

My stats are very similar to yours; same GMAT, similar GPA/ugrad quality. What schools are you looking at?

I'll be applying to schools next year, so my list is still being finalized. Also, I want to stay in the midwest, so I'm not really looking at schools out west or in the northeast. Right now, I think the four schools that I'll apply to are Tepper, Ross, Kellogg, and Booth. Honestly, Tepper and Ross are my preferred schools (for various reasons), but it would be hard to turn down Kellogg or Booth if I were to get in.

How about you?

I'm still deciding on whether to go for R2 this year (just got the 760 last saturday), or wait until next year like you.

A major difference between us is age/race actually, I'm 28 and Korean-American (born here), so I do have a little bit of time pressure, but it may be worth waiting until next year for a quality application.

The schools I'm targeting are booth, kellogg, sloan (boss went there), tuck, stern, but if I do R2's, I'd only have time for booth and kellogg.

FWIW, I think we'd have a very, very solid chance at Ross/Tepper; you must've really enjoyed your time at Ann Arbor.
