Hey, as already recommended, you should start with the given information and order your prep materials. One important point might be the change in regards to the test. Mid of this year there will be a new part (Integrated reasoning) added to the test.
No one know how much time you need to prepare for standardized test. Some (freaky) guys can score 700+ without any prep time and others are not able to break through 600 points with 6 months of prep time. So it all depends on your fundamentals, logical understanding and general stamina. Most of the gmatclub members advise new people to study not more than 3 months as your focus will start to lack after that.
Get familiar with the different prep strategies mentioned mohater and make sure you have everything in place (such as all prep materials, studylog, errorlog) before you really start. Another important point would be to dicipline yourself for the next few months.
Do not hesitate to come up with questions and request advice when needed. HOWEVER, most of the topics are already discussed and explained more than once, so feel free to use the SEARCH first.
