Guys I can understand why C is better than B but still can you provide a profound reason to eliminate B. The confusion between b and c took me around a minute.
thanks in advance

In order to logically conclude that Adam won due to training hard, we need the assumption that this is the only way She can win it. The mention of "only" in choice C separated from choice B. Choice B provides just one of the ways of achieving it.

For example:

1. (As per Choice B) If you score V40, you could get 700 score in GMAT.
You scored 700 but your score was V38 Q51.

2. (As per C) You can score 700 in GMAT only if you score V40.
You scored 700. It implies you got V40.

If you look at the premise on which conclusion is based, you'd notice information 'by beating Lenin' would become unnecessary if you choose B. on the other hand choice C takes into account all of it.
Hope it helps.

My answer is A. Lenin is not necessary to win just because she has been winning since four years. A four time winner cannot win a race without training enough. Lenin might have trained hard, but Adam trained harder than Lenin, hence Adam won.

Training hard and the comparison of trainings are two separate entities. Option A is incorrect because the comparison of trainings doesn't necessarily ensures that Adam trained hard and also the conclusion is not the comparison but the proposition that Adam trained hard. Options C gives a clear evidence that Adams trained hard.

Re: Adam won this year’s local sailboat race by beating Lenin, the winner [#permalink]
I think that question is flawed. Reasons being:

1. Adam win : Adam may have worked hard, but it is also possible that Lenin had trained low.
2. Lenin Loss: He May have trained hard but Adam may not have participated in the race in the previous years.

So we need to have the participation, training details in order to arrive at a conclusion. As per the information given B is out. But, options A,C,D,E can be true or might be true.

Help is required if my concept is wrong.
