Chris, thanks for the article. Can you elaborate more on SC section, if possible with a similar question from official guides.

Not Chris, but I sat the exam today, and the SC was nothing like OG. It was kind of similar to GMATPrep, but even more difficult than that. I say that because a vast majority of the questions I received had more emphasis on tone/clarity, as opposed to the "technical" issues like parallelism/modifiers/etc. I'd say it is a bit skewed in favor of native speakers at the moment.

The real question that everyone wants to know is what was your GMAT score. What was it?

Bad news. How did you perform?

Not as well as my GMATPrep, but it was within the expected spread so my consistency was there. Scored a 740 final score (Q49 V41 IR8).

740 is a great score. Thanks jwang. It seems you failed mostly for SC. What about RC and CR? Did you encounter too dense passages? And can you tell us your gmatprep scores?

Hi Chris,

That is really an interesting take on the GMAT. There are so many debriefs out there, but having a view from a tutor is great.

Best,

Thanks for sharing Chris. However, I was wondering what you would recommend to do in order to prepare for SC now.

You wrote: "Instead, learn how to navigate through the sea of complexity that is the Sentence Correction questions so you can quickly home in on the correct answer." --> how would you accomplish this?

Thanks in advance! :)

Hello,

Looks like SC has changed only. Can the OP please advise the strategy for the new SC questions. I use splits in my answer - and this strategy does not work on Meaning/tone/clarity questions.

Thanks.
