Hi everyone,

My info:

1. Female, 22, USA
2. Top 20 public school- 2014 (Transferred when I was 20 from a JC), Psychology; GPA 3.3 ( my parent was diagnosed and died of cancer during my last two years)
4. W/E: 3 years upon matriculation. 2 years work experience at a talent agency, TV/Advertising.
Currently work in Sales for a magazine. Additionally, have been working for my family business (engineering firm)
5. GMAT- taking in August, if I don't get a 700+ most likely will not be planning this year.
6. Schools: Booth, Stern, CBS, LBS, Kellogg, Yale

I am considered that my W/E is lacking in years, and that my lack of extra curricular activities will hurt me. Any advice/input is appreciated! :)

I think you have a chance to apply to any of these programs. However, you have to target 700+ on your GMAT score and develop a competitive application.

I rarely say this but I really think it might be better for you to wait and get a little more management experience your job, and also get that extra curricular experience under your belt. Start that right now. Some of these schools would be within your reach if you applied this year sooner and got a 700 plus on the GMAT. However I don't think Booth or Kellogg would be. Both of those schools care about community service especially Kellogg. Continue to develop your profile, get the GMAT out of the way and apply next year. It might not be a bad idea to engage in some pre MBA counseling. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. By the way whenever you ask for profile reviews you might want to include your race. It's unfortunately a major factor in acceptance rates. If you are Chinese or Indian, I would say for the GMAT 720 +.

Looking at your brief profile, I'm inclined to say that you might benefit from waiting for a year and applying. The schools on your target list tend to admit students with 4-6years of good quality work experience. You can use the time to build your profile, including getting a rock solid GMAT score.
