Any chance MIT waits until after decisions from many of the other schools that are releasing decisions this week? Is there a level of collusion between programs in acceptances, or do they have no idea that candidates have gotten into other schools?
I have heard from a few people that the schools do communicate (I haven't verified this, however), as they are concerned in preserving their yields as high as possible
I'm a little confused - how would that help yield? If MIT waits till you know if you got into Kellogg (example), how does that change why/why not they invite you for an interview? To help yield, it seems like they'd rather you NOT get into Kellogg to increase the chance of you accepting MIT. But if following that logic, I would not want the "rejects" of another school....
For what it's worth, Fuqua just released their interview invites last week so MIT is not alone in the late interview strategy.
