No one knows. Last year's ding date was different from the previous year.
There's no guarantee that this year's ding date will be the same, or different, as last year.

Try to relax.

If they keep up with the tradition of sending out dings before Christmas, then tomorrow will be the ding day, since the admissions office is probably closed Friday.

Still no west coast! Or are people on the west-coast not posting due to Sloan's gag order.
Based on last year, dings should start rolling in either today afty or tomorrow.

Hey guys. I know it's rather shallow question and the schools are quite different but if you had to choose between Wharton and Sloan which one would you pick? Your preference based on the school and not its location :) ) Thanks!

That would make sense... They want to at least release you before Christmas, and also give you sufficient time to re-focus on R2 deadlines in January..

This year's first invites rolled out on December 6th, which is the same date as first invites last year...

Anyways, good luck all!

In my opinion, you should go for Wharton.

We don't want more competitors in MIT, hehe

Really, I think both are great schools. Just choose the one you think you fit most at.

Ok! I will bite.
Disclaimer: I am not applying to Wharton and have not thoroughly researched the school.
IMHO, if you want to be in finance, it is Wharton hands down.
If you want to be in High-tech and Entrepreneurship then it is MIT, but Wharton might not be too far behind.
There have been some great entrepreneurial success stories from Wharton in high-tech over the last few years
Wharton is probably a bigger brand internationally. If you are undecided or want to go to consulting, Wharton might
be a better bet. I am also not a fan of MIT diluting it's brand by starting a ton of sidey programs like
MS in Management Studies and MS in System Design.
That being said, I will sell my proverbial grandma to get into MIT Sloan MBA and throw in my grandpa as well
to sweeten the deal.

West coast here too, I was beginning to fret a bit, but just remembered, Sloan's R1 decision date is pretty late compared to other schools... Feb. 6, so there's still lots of time for interviews. My guess is we'll hear west coast invites after the holidays, but who knows, maybe they're gearing up for it this week.

I loved Sloan when I visited the school. The students seemed very friendly and nice - the marketing class I attended was simply awesome - most of all I like the many hands-on learning courses (I guess they call it labs) - I feel that I would get more out of an MBA from MIT than any other school so that's why I would choose Sloan if I had that option (looks more and more unlikely as ding day approaches :( )
